One of the most powerful tools my client’s and I use for Self-Evolution is a Journal. ( revised 2019 post)
Today I’m sitting outside journaling & enjoying grounding, the sweet breeze and the humming birds on the lipstick bush behind me. I’m utilizing journaling and nature to stimulate creativity, higher perspective and nervous system wellbeing (stress relief)
The benefits of journaling differ from person to person. There seem to be, however, general themes that are attractive in the collective unconscious. Many of us, my clients and myself, look to daily entries of personal experiences to gain personal support and inspiration.
Here are my 11 Soul Evolutionary Benefits to Keeping a Journal:
💮 Maintaining a journal is a natural way to exercise the brain. When we make regular entries, we’re taking time to develop writing and communication skills that are very valuable in everyday interactions. (Like writing this blog!) This mental exercise also helps our thoughts flow more freely and gain momentum.
💮 Creativity is another benefit to consider. Creativity is an important aspect of journaling. The right hemisphere of the brain is associated with visual, imaginative and intuitive facets of thought. When we take time to write, we free the right hemisphere’s creative mechanism. The ideal entry will be one that puts the inner editor on hold. Thoughts and ideas should flow freely and naturally.
💮 Self-awareness is developed through the uninhibited nature of this form of writing. Most of us often create different faces to meet various circumstances. We tend to recreate in distinct situations, including the work environment, the community and even at home while participating in our intimate relationships. Journaling helps bring self-awareness of our different faces into perspective.
💮 The process of keeping a journal helps us recognize the various aspects of our unique personalities. Growing self-awareness is a powerful force that can lead to even greater benefits in the future. Gaining insight into the Self is among the most important aspects to Self- Evolution.
💮 Our ability to set priorities is another end-result of journaling. Once we get a grasp on thoughts and emotions that are filtered through our personal experience, we begin to gain control of them. The process eventually leads to a greater understanding of what is and what is not important. I personally find this use of journaling very beneficial to my personality!
💮 Our ability to see the past more clearly is another excellent advantage to keeping a journal. The pages of our past can be revisited with a fresh perspective. It can be very surprising how much our understanding of an event changes over a relatively short period of time. My clients often find great moments of epiphany when rethinking and rereading entries. They also become more aware of their own personal growth and achievements.
💮 Journaling is a fantastic problem-solving resource. The approach of using entries to come up with various solutions to challenges is a little different than approaches for self-awareness and growth. We can choose temporary brainstorming techniques that offer viable solutions to problems.
💮 “Variety” is another very supportive value of journaling. We can choose the kind of entries we want to make. Common choices include brainstorming sessions, automatic writing and reflective notes. Personal journal entries can be made upon inspiration, when we first awake or right before falling asleep. I choose to do a combination of these, depending on my focus.
💮 Purge! Many people find it helpful to place negative thoughts and feelings down on paper. Once the negative energy is placed on the page, we are free to let it go! This practice also works well when dealing with anger towards another individual. Purge the negativity and work towards a constructive approach!
💮 Communication with others is another aspect of keeping a journal. Those who work with life coaches can find a wealth of resources for sessions. Journaling can help us tap into our fears and dreams, helping our coach gain insight through entries we choose to share.
💮 Finally, journaling reduces stress! It provides time for us to meditate. The process helps make the positive forces in our lives surface and it helps bring the destructive patterns into light. The result of personal journaling is a new perspective on how we can become Self- Aware and take personal responsibility of many aspects of our lives!

Sorry I have been out of touch for a few months. I humbly acknowledge that my own spiritual path has been bumpy as I navigated fires, health issues of my life partner, the untimely death of my sister in addition to the stresses of the pandemic and our country’s divisive political and racial climate. All this resulted in inflammation in my body and resistance in my spiritual journey.
Thankfully, I dug even deeper into my practice and was able see these intense challenges as opportunities for healing and growth. Through meditation, breathwork, chakra balancing, nutrition and more, I shifted my perspective and further explored my higher self.

A labyrinth is an ancient symbol that relates to wholeness. It combines the imagery of the circle and the spiral into a winding but purposeful path. It has only one path. It is unicursal. The way in is the way out. The labyrinth represents a journey to our own center and back again out into the world. Labyrinths have long been used as meditation and prayer tools.
For me it is a symbol that creates a sacred space and place and when I walk the path I shift from ego to my Higher Self. The path winds throughout and becomes a mirror for where I am in my life. It helps me to see my life more clearly.
The experience is three fold:
🧚On the way in I am releasing and letting go of the details of my life that no longer serve me. As I speak my clearing statements my mind quiets and empties.
🧚Illumination occurs when I reach the center. I stay centered for as long as I am called to. It is a place of meditation and prayer. I’ve released and am receptive to what there is for me to receive. Here I leave an offering, today it was a stone.
🧚On my way out I am aligned and joining with Higher Self, Source Energy and with the healing forces at work. Today I affirmed the good, the holy and the beautiful into life.
I noticed when I arrived there was Hawk watching from the pole and stayed there until I was driving away. Hawk has traveled with me since I was 18 years old. It’s a sign from the spirit realm that I am ready to take on a larger, more powerful expansion and vision of the world. So It Is!🙏

In October of 2020 my right knee swelled up to the size of a softball. I was completely immobilized for the only time in my life. I had inflammation flareups in other parts of my body early in the year that I was able to sufficiently handle. But this was completely different! After 10 days of not being able to reduce swelling, I decided to see my naturopathic doc, Dr Katka. I do not do traditional medicine so this was my only path.
My Naturopathic doctor ran a blood panel that showed all my systems were inflamed and the inflammation had settled in my knee. My immune system was firing. We suspected there may be a pathogen, but at my request, we did not name the experience as I would have done if going to a medical doctor practicing western medicine. Instead, we agreed she would assist my body naturally based on what we knew and suspected. I would do the internal work necessary to address the mental/emotional state causing inflammation in my physical being. I knew that work would make the biggest impact for me.
My naturopath offered me the option of being put on medication for inflammation,including steroid shots for pain to take the edge off my discomfort in the short term. I declined and told her that I am responsible for my overall well-being and was willing to do the inner work and whatever it would take naturally to come back into balance. She agreed with this path, as she too thought it was the best one in the long run for my body’s overall health. She also felt confident in my commitment to my wellbeing and ability to do the deeper work necessary to come back into wellness.
The plan of action was for me to:
Make some shifts in my nutrition, to move away from eating to boost my immune system & cleansing, and instead eat and supplement to soothe my body’s systems and decrease inflammation. I leaned into some of the Medical Medium’s (Anthony William’s)liver protocols and recipes and my doctor’s supplement suggestions.
We also agreed that breathwork and meditation would be a constant self-care regime, morning and evening. I needed to increase the care of my nervous system, particularly my vegas nerve. I contacted my breath work coach Carla w/ Divine Interest. She helped me to set intentions for my breathwork, mindset and created guided journeys to support my morning practice. In addition, I faithfully began a 4:8 deep rhythmic breathing practice at night.
Daily I soaked in a hot epsom salt and essential oil bath. This became a ritual that opened the space for physical and emotional release and healing. I practiced my breath-work meditation and emotional clearing practices while soaking.
Daily sunbathing and chakra balancing was another ritual I grew accustomed too once I was able to move around my home more easily.
I began IV therapy on day 10 of my process, during my first naturopathic visit to begin reducing pain and inflammation. Once I had addressed the pain and begun to reduce swelling, I moved to Ozone therapy on day 25 of my process. The pics you see here are of me last week at my 6th Ozone session, 13 weeks into my process. I’m alined with Ozone as an alternative pathway to maintaining and assisting the body back into balance.
My knee swelling is completely down now and I’m mobile again, walking, hiking, rowing, grocery shopping, driving, enjoying nature and my life to the fullest physically. 🙏💃 Currently I’m overall inflammation free and my body is handling easily naturally occurring inflammation from positive stress incurred with daily use, exercise etc. My nervous and immune systems are self regulating again and my body is thriving.
The piece that freed me the most was the internal work I did. My work was guided by my own intuition, Naturopath Dr. Katka and breathwork coach, Carla. The combined inspiration reminded me of the importance of spaciousness, patience, acceptance and love. My studies with PLA over the years and today / 9 Super Powers Initiation and 13Moons Initiation taught me transformation systems that allow me to deliberately access my subconscious mind and consciously make change. I was able to remember childhood experiences that had been locked down in fear ( inflamed states), triggered by the current events of my personal and worldview experiences (inflamed states). This gave me the opportunity to feel and release stories, stuck energy and locked memory. My self-care practices supported me to further heal and clear my subconscious, while strengthening my vegas nerve and overall nervous system health, immunity and wellbeing.
My True Self was coming more on-line!
Ultimately my healing was in remembering who I am as an energetic being and aligning with my True Self. Through surrender, acceptance, patience and Love I came home to my true nature and energetic essence. I was reminded that I cannot help the thoughts that come into my awareness, but I can choose the thoughts that I will give my attention to and thereby determine what experience I will have. I was returned to the healing power of gratitude for all the assistance that showed up to support me when I asked.
I believe we all have the power within us to take full responsibility for our health and wellbeing and that there are many natural and supportive systems, modalities, practices, practitioners and divine helpers available to us that are willing to guide and support us to claim the power within to heal our own lives. It’s up to us, and we have everything we need!!

Are you eating to live and stay in alignment with a renewing wellbeing and ease?

I was a compulsive eater, giving way to all my cravings, stuffing all my emotions and staying quite busy exercising and competing, socializing to a distraction and working crazy corporate hours.
I never thought about what the food I was putting into my body was actually “doing”. I was so bogged down and distracted in my unprocessed emotions, memory and trauma, doing whatever I could to avoid them. Over a long period of time, I developed inflammation in my body that showed up in many aches and pains, stress, and then a persistent walking pneumonia that brought a halt to everything. That was a game changing diagnosis for me. It caused me to take a deep pause and reflection of myself - mentally, emotionally, physically and spiritually.
Food wasn’t my only bad habit, but it was a big part of my holistic picture. Becoming conscious about my motivation to eat was one of my greatest acts of self-love and care.
Fast forward 25 years. Now I consciously eat to live and experience a continuous flow of wellbeing and deepening connection to my inner beauty and higher self. My body knows exactly what it needs and I listen. Priceless!
There are a lot of - diet/ nutrition perspectives floating around, offering to fix this and that. I tried some, especially during the times I had aches and pains or was exercising to compete. In some cases a fix occurred, often temporarily though. I’ve learned that my body’s needs change as often as I do.
One perspective of eating doesn’t fit all!
Learning to eat intuitively and take full responsibility for my nutritional choices and overall wellbeing is what best serves my freedoms and fullest expressions. Right now I’m on day 7 of the Medical Medium’s Liver Rescue 3:6:9 cleanse. I like to cleanse with seasonal changes. This cleanse is easy on the system and allows me to eat nutritionally dense foods that restore and renew the liver, which was in need of some love. 🙏🏻
Like I said , food is one part of self care and is integral to my mental, emotional and spiritual self-care.
Exercise, time in nature, SOMA breathwork, meditation, moon magic, journaling and sensual play are also ways to care for yourself and stay in alignment with wellbeing.💃

I have been sitting quietly at the entry point… this moment now. I’ve been using all my tools to process personal, local community & global events that have triggered me (my point of entry) to pause and turn within.
Since the onset of the pandemic, which was unsettling on its own; my younger sister committed suicide; wildfires moved through my desert land and my family and I were evacuated from our home twice, once unable to return for days not knowing if our home was still standing; my partner received news that he may have a serious health issue that could shorten his life. All these events were sudden, devastating, and close to heart and home for me.
Globally the world continues to be challenged with societal challenges—politically, spiritually, environmentally, economically and with human rights. These challenges are not new to me. I was a 60’s baby who grew up in Boston, developing in a decade of extremes, transformational change, and contrast; most often in a violent climate. I was raised in a revolution! A revolution similar to life today, only now it feels to be on steroids and revealing at warp speed a deep state of disfunction ready to heal.
The struggles of my sister, Karen, and the revolution of today live as memories in my subconscious mind. The recent events triggered within me memory of similar experiences that I had not fully integrated, including family childhood trauma, neglect and conditioning and severe societal trauma; all Deep States of dysfunctional conditions! The wildfire flames and destruction that moved through my home and community and my beloved’s health all triggered within me, memory of loss, helplessness and grief.
You see as children, especially younger than 7, we live in a potpourri of experiences where we are not able to differentiate self from other. So everything we feel, hear, sense and see tells us about the world around us. And we believe it 100%. These experiences, stored in our subconscious minds are the ones our brains draw from to give us its best guess as to how we should feel, think and respond every time we are engaged with stimuli. Until we consciously recondition ourselves into alignment with the higher truth of who we are, we continually cycle through the same old same old, just a different year, decade, person, place or situation seeking our- liberation.
I had so much unravel so fast and could feel the subtle pull of my triggered pain, suffering and confusion – fear stirring deep within, resulting in inflammation in my body’s joints. I could feel my vulnerabilities at not being able to respond to the best of my abilities. I wanted to be conscious and not reactive, so slowing down and diving deep into my own state of mind became imperative. I needed to be aware and mindful of what was happening in the present moment (now) within me.
My “feeling triggered and vulnerable moment” was my entry point to where I was, who I was not, my truth now, and the future I desire. In order to fully claim my authentic personal power, and to live as authentically as possible, I had to go back to my own childhood and discover and heal the familiar and societal wounds that were still active within me… my family legacy and society. Gratefully, my physical, psycho-emotional, and spiritual conditions are set up to allow this movement within me. During this time, my daily self-care practice helped me access my higher consciousness presence and activate momentum toward my sage within.
I feel grounded, confident, present and whole now. I have gained clarity, compassion, ease and vision for the future I desire to co-create in. I’m confident that I have successfully completed generationally familiar and societal patterns within myself that will ripple through past, present and future experiences, giving birth to a New World to which I feel deeply connected. I want the same for you!

In a world where we are taught to seek outside of ourselves for answers it can be difficult to know what’s - true, possible and best for ourselves or others in our care.
We become limited to the systems and other people’s actions and beliefs of what’s right, true or possible.
Often we take action with our own or our children’s physical and mental health that does not feel good to us but we don’t question it because we don’t feel we are the expert on what’s best for “us or our children”. We don’t feel safe going against what everyone else agreed is the right thing. Or what’s seems to be the only thing available to us.
We don’t trust ourselves, our gut feelings and insights. We don’t question the experts and expectations and they don’t ask us to.
Trusting yourself builds up your confidence, makes it easier for you to make the decisions that are best for you, and reduces your stress levels. It aligns you with the miracle thinking necessary for the miracles that you know are ready to happen.
Trusting yourself shifts you from being dependent on another person( place or situation) to know better for you, to a position of collaborating with a person ( place or situation ) who’s wisdom includes what it is - you feel is true and possible for you.
The decision to grow in your Self- Trust is a powerful form of personal freedom.
One way to start or deepen in self- trust is to commit to a daily practice that supports you building a relationship with your own inner guidance system and wellbeing.
Meditation, breathwork and journaling practices combined are three ways to deepen connection to your authentic self/ voice ( higher-self, best-self) and build the self- trust necessary to take a stand in the miraculous of what’s true and possible for you.

I’ve been asked a lot about my thoughts on our world situation and the best defense to the virus.
Below is my perspective and it is just that, my perspective. I welcome questions in the comments via email@example.com.
There are many necessary challenging events in the world. We’ve been coming to this place of chaos, that was predicted in ancient text but also obvious to those conscious of trends in consciousness.
Chaos is not new and is necessary for essential shifts. Our modern circumstances allow it to be experienced so vividly.￼
The global virus, fluctuating stock market, chaos in politics, life, the media and much more are signs of a collective conscious intending to shift perspective and individuals learning, awakening(or not) to take personal responsibility for their own wellbeing and then bringing that model forward for others to learn from, if they choose.
This time also serves for “sisterhood/ feminine energy within all ” to step in and up, show up and shine for themselves and for all women/ people/ sentient beings/ earth.
At the end of the day it is the feminine frequency( in all beings) that will make the biggest leap in consciousness which, by nature is inclusive and will do what’s in the highest and best for “all involved” in all ways, always.
Not everyone will make this shift, not everyone is supposed to. Allowing yourself and others to be where you/they are in belief systems is the path of least resistance.
We are not going to be saved nor can we save someone, to do so can often do more harm.
What’s unfolding will unfold, regardless of how you feel about it. It’s out of your control, but what’s in your control is your “response – ableness.” Your power to choose a productive response and take action. The actions will be different for everyone, but equally important to the whole.
What’s required now for you to stay centered in health and well-being is - what is always required of you.
Personal responsibility for managing your mental, emotional and physical energies.
Below are some “suggestions”:
Getting back to basic “supportive choices” that are really helpful at this time like:
- Staying well hydrated, adding honey and lemon to your water helps;
- Juicing celery or cucumber and drinking on a empty stomach each morning;
- Engaging conscious breathing to increase oxygen flow and to mindfully be in the parasympathetic system;
- Spiritual Practice - 40 day sadhana;
- Spending time barefoot in nature, grounding etc.;
- Spending time in the sun before 10am and after 4pm;
- Taking supplements to support a healthy balanced diet, whatever that is for you;👇
- Supplement suggestions- Raw vitamin C, B 12 and a B complex, Zinc, oregano oil, neem and turmeric , enzymes etc. what else for you?
- Dance, sing, play, listen to uplifting music;
- Stay connected to a positive life story;
- Feel all your emotions, the ones beneath the negative story. Drop that story;
- Practice gratitude journaling;
- Follow the cycles of nature;
Most importantly keep it simple and easy, place you awareness on what you want; for yourself, loved ones and for the world.

Did you know in most systems of metaphysical working you will find mentioned the four (or sometimes five) Elements, often in conjunction with their directions, also referred to as quarters of the Universe or cardinal points? Together and separately they are extremely powerful sources of energy.
The four Elements are energies, and manifestations of energy, that make up the entire Universe and all beings within it, that means humans too. They also influence our personalities and therefore what we do. My Sacred Circle & Seven Direction Practice calls to each Elemental kingdom, each cardinal point and its properties for helpful information, guidance and healing.
Each Element has an intrinsic power and is known for having certain qualities, natures, moods and mystical purposes. They makeup our mentally, emotional , physical and life force energy. Each also has positive and negative traits.
The four Elements are Air, Fire, Water and Earth and you may find that you work best using one of them in particular and harmonizing with the others. The fifth Element is that of Spirit which is the ‘binding principle’ behind everything. Sometimes known as Aether, it is, on the whole, invisible, yet is the force which makes everything happen.
I naturally work with Air best and have a strong intellect, love all forms of communication, being playful and enjoy spending time in conscious breathing and meditation, for example.
However, when I get out of balance with the air element I can get to heady, flighty, ungrounded and fussy which can interfere with my physical health, relational wellbeing, and feeling financially secure and safe in the world. It’s during theses times I’m in need of harmonizing with one or more of the other elements. Stepping into the center of my sacred circle and following the flow of the elements and cardinal directions I gather needed information to harmonize wellbeing - mentally, emotionally, physically and spiritually.
